But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remigio Jungejohan couldn't finish the play. Clemente Savier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Flores, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Cristopher Damian came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nicolás Villamil could save by the left post. In the 20th minute, Cristopher Damian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ booed when CSD Concepción was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Manilan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Arturo Navarrete was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CSD Concepción's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ the free kick. After a rather tough play, CSD Concepción's Arturo Navarrete got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute, Jerônimo Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clemente Savier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tor Tuga in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Flores in the 29th minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Paes to maneuver through the defense. Nicolás Villamil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigio Jungejohan in the 35th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Juanjo Campaña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute of the match Elias Figueroa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicolás Villamil skillfully saved the ball. If Remigio Jungejohan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Mario Flores made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Manilan in the 52nd minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to CSD Concepción getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Chico Ortega hit a great ball. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Fumanchu Madrazo was substituted for Rodrigo Barrera. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Marcelo Salas was substituted for Cristopher Damian. After 58 played minutes CSD Concepción got a freekick which was hit by Chico Ortega. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Salas in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolás Villamil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clemente Savier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Manilan in the 63rd minute of play. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Clemente Savier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Flores in the 65th minute of play. Miguel Manilan took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clemente Savier. Clemente Savier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Erasmo Lacunza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Clemente Savier made a huge save. When ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Marcelo Salas in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CSD Concepción's goalie prevented a goal. In the 83rd minute, CSD Concepción's Erasmo Lacunza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Nicolás Villamil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Salas in the 91st minute of play. After 92 minutes CSD Concepción's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Walmyr Alcântara who took care of the corner kick.
