The supporters of Holmes FC booed when Ornitorrincos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modestio Jina didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Valentín Bello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duardo Pruniel in the 17th minute of play forced Holmes FC's goalkeeper Rafael Maria Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Duardo Pruniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Maria Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Angelillo Fuente put in a rough tackle. After having played for 22 minutes, Donato Polhemus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Holmes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Polhemus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celedonio Devoto during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 29 played minutes Holmes FC got a freekick which was hit by Celedonio Devoto. In the 36th minute Duardo Pruniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Maria Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gugu Tande to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Holmes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Duardo Pruniel came free, but Rafael Maria Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Duardo Pruniel got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 96th minute Duardo Pruniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Maria Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ornitorrincos F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
