Mustafa Necati Sıraç came out of the goal and Batuğ Keykubad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cemal Erdurmus in the 8th minute of play forced Yorulan Defansa Gelsin's goalkeeper Mustafa Necati Sıraç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ümit Sarbay fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yorulan Defansa Gelsin's protests and gave Ümit Sarbay a yellow card for diving instead. Ümit Sarbay kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Cemal Erdurmus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Mustafa Necati Sıraç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samsunspor's Hayri İlksen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Samsunspor from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Batuğ Keykubad sped through Yorulan Defansa Gelsin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mustafa Necati Sıraç. Hayri İlksen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mustafa Haydar Onultan in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yaman Özcebe got free with Hayri İlksen in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ahmet Ömür Akkın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ahmet Ömür Akkın managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samsunspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Ömür Akkın was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mustafa Necati Sıraç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hayri İlksen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ümit Sarbay in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Ahmet Ömür Akkın made the kick off in the second half. Ümit Sarbay got his second yellow card in the match during the 52nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 56 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Haydar Onultan came free, but Hayri İlksen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mustafa Haydar Onultan scored 1-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hayri İlksen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mustafa Haydar Onultan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Samsunspor succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Yorulan Defansa Gelsin had controlled the match.
