Atilla Tarkan Enfal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rafet Akçiçek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cenap Sarıcabay in the 9th minute. In the 15th minute, one of MegaFenerbahce:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MegaFenerbahce. In the 25th play minute Cenap Sarıcabay came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rafet Akçiçek. 2-1. MegaFenerbahce's Rafet Akçiçek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Korkut Dirican in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Güral Vecih managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samsunspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Güral Vecih was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafet Akçiçek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the match, MegaFenerbahce's goal looked a bit too open when Cenap Sarıcabay came free, but Rafet Akçiçek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulaş Alan got free with Rafet Akçiçek in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rafet Akçiçek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Güral Vecih, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Rafet Akçiçek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Korkut Dirican, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Arcan Safi charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arcan Safi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, MegaFenerbahce's Arcan Safi got a free kick in the 59th minute. Samsunspor's Cenap Sarıcabay got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ahmet Hayri Ülkem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafet Akçiçek having to interfere. Rafet Akçiçek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Korkut Dirican went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cenap Sarıcabay in the 69th minute of play forced MegaFenerbahce's goalkeeper Rafet Akçiçek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Kuzey Baran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the game, Samsunspor's Deniz Geylanoğullarından nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafet Akçiçek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Samsunspor made a substitution. Abdülhak Zeynelabidin replaced Güral Vecih. In the 88th minute Cenap Sarıcabay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafet Akçiçek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Deniz Geylanoğullarından ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafet Akçiçek was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Samsunspor walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
