Jerome Groom started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Spike Lambley. Phil Tolley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matthew Edwards read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. The FC LIVERPOOL fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when FC LIVERPOOL's Philip Sheridan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. FC LIVERPOOL's Marek Wray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save FC LIVERPOOL from getting a goal against them. Matthew Edwards made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Sheridan in the 11th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Philip Sheridan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Matthew Edwards was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brendon Swanson hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Marek Wray was a little too slow when Jerome Groom got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-2. Barrie Lester hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Tolley in the 25th minute of play forced Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Matthew Edwards to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matthew Edwards showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Sheridan, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 43rd match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barrie Lester to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of FC LIVERPOOL booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barrie Lester didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the game, FC LIVERPOOL's Phil Tolley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthew Edwards made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The Club Atlético de Newell players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC LIVERPOOL were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Philip Sheridan to strike the kick off in the second half. Seb Newman kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Clive Maloney made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Club Atlético de Newell's Barrie Lester. In the 60th minute Jerome Groom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Wray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerome Groom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Seb Newman hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Brendon Swanson kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Philip Sheridan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthew Edwards having to make a save. Jerome Groom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Wray having to interfere. In the 94th match minute, FC LIVERPOOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Sheridan to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, Philip Sheridan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matthew Edwards. Club Atlético de Newell's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Philip Sheridan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4.
