Spectators: 175 (Terracing: 132, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kelvin Quinn started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Danny Avery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kelvin Quinn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Marler having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Henley on Thames United got a freekick which was hit by Dan Ball. 12 minutes into the match, Arrows Academy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kelvin Quinn came free, but Rex Marler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronny Dines's late challenge caught a Arrows Academy FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronny Dines helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when Henley on Thames United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Dines didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henley on Thames United's Dane White proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Henley on Thames United from getting a goal against them. Simon Roche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dane White tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rex Marler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylon Rundle in the 27th minute of the match. Rex Marler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dylon Rundle, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Rex Marler came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Henley on Thames United's Danny Avery. But to his dismay, Danny Avery quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when Henley on Thames United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Avery didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes, Henley on Thames United's Tod Summers shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rex Marler came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Henley on Thames United reached it. 42 minutes into the match, Arrows Academy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dylon Rundle came free, but Rex Marler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Jim Ackroyd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Roche stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Arrows Academy FC's Des Ealham seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Des Ealham the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Arrows Academy FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Des Ealham had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Arrows Academy FC:s Rex Marler showed great skill when he stopped Tod Summers:s penalty. 56 minutes into the match, Tod Summers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rex Marler, 0-2. Danny Avery struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Rex Marler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Henley on Thames United. In the 61st minute of the match, Dylon Rundle got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rex Marler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 64th minute, Danny Avery reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rex Marler. The goal made the score 0-3. Rex Marler was out of position in the 98 minute of play, and Kelvin Quinn capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kelvin Quinn really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Henley on Thames United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
