Dane White took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronnie Howard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dane White didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronnie Howard went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orson Cambridge during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Henley on Thames United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orson Cambridge to maneuver through the defense. Manchester United F.C.'s Steve Pennant got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Danny Avery got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kelvin Quinn to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tim Butt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martyn Patten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dylon Rundle in the 54th minute of play. Dylon Rundle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Patten having to interfere. In the 71stth minute of the game Kelvin Quinn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manchester United F.C.'s Martyn Patten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Manchester United F.C.'s Ronnie Howard in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Henley on Thames United's goalie prevented a goal. Dane White made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Butt in the 74th minute. Kelvin Quinn hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Kelvin Quinn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Henley on Thames United's Tod Summers got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Tod Summers off the ground. In the 96th match minute, Manchester United F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Pennant to maneuver through the defense. The Henley on Thames United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Manchester United F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Manchester United F.C..
