To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, Ashley Titmus lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Sacha Lane. A collision led to Barr Point getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Gaz Atkinson hit a great ball. In the 28th minute of the match Barr Point got a corner. Hilsea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lee Cook ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lee Cook made a great header on Barr Point's corner, it was just that Hilsea's Walter Allanson managed to reach the ball for a save. Ashley Titmus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Sacha Lane made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ashley Titmus during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ashley Titmus hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, James Foreman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ashley Titmus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. James Foreman hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sacha Lane showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes, Hilsea's Ruben Forrest shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sacha Lane came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hilsea reached it. Sacha Lane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Titmus in the 65th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ashley Titmus in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sacha Lane prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Hilsea booed when Barr Point was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoff Howarth didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rdth minute of the game Ashley Titmus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barr Point's Sacha Lane was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Barr Point's goal looked a bit too open when Ashley Titmus came free, but Sacha Lane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hilsea's Walter Allanson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristopher Sharpe in the 91st minute of play. Ruben Forrest took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sacha Lane. Barr Point's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
