Albert Christensen started the match with the kick off. Kristopher Sharpe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ralf Hudson came out and tried to block the shot, but Kristopher Sharpe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. Kristopher Sharpe's late challenge caught a Ampthill FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristopher Sharpe helped the player get up and apologised. Kristopher Sharpe kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 10th match minute, Ampthill FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremy Coombe to maneuver through the defense. Sacha Lane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry Poynton in the 12th minute of the match. Ralf Hudson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Sharpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Barr Point were furious when Frazer Savage was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Sacha Lane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Larry Hallam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ampthill FC's Ralf Hudson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Browne in the 24th minute of play. After 34 minutes of play, Ampthill FC's Roger Platt made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sacha Lane was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roger Platt took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sacha Lane. Sacha Lane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Kristopher Sharpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ralf Hudson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 minutes of play, Ampthill FC's Roger Platt made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sacha Lane was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kristopher Sharpe made a kick off. Jamie Kemp charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jamie Kemp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ampthill FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jamie Kemp hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ampthill FC's zone, Kristopher Sharpe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralf Hudson came out of the goal and Kristopher Sharpe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Roger Platt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sacha Lane. That made the score 1-4 in the 57 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Platt in the 61st minute of play forced Barr Point's goalkeeper Sacha Lane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Kristopher Sharpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Geoff Howarth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ampthill FC booed when Barr Point was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barr Point's players were relieved. Barr Point's Sacha Lane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Barr Point from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the game, Geoff Howarth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barr Point's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ampthill FC the free kick. In the 95th minute, Jeremy Coombe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute, Gaz Atkinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sacha Lane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathan Morse in the 100th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ampthill FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Barr Point.
