Allan Bramble started the match with the kick off. John Hassell kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Wills to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the game, Rod Reading was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leicester Lions's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Death Ducks the free kick. A collision led to Leicester Lions getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Rod Reading hit a great ball. In the 13th minute of the match, Marty Holden tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Simon Slater saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nathan Leyburn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronan Marler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Ronan Marler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathan Leyburn in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute Leicester Lions were awarded a corner. Ashley Hamilton went to the cornerflag to take it. Verne Silvester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ronan Marler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Harrison hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Jermaine Brearley charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jermaine Brearley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Leicester Lions booed when Real Death Ducks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jermaine Brearley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Nathan Leyburn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Leicester Lions's Max Wills sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronan Marler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Allan Bramble's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronan Marler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Real Death Ducks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Hassell to maneuver through the defense. Ronan Marler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Verne Silvester in the 39th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lawrence Banks was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Allan Bramble could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Ronan Marler however easily saved by the left post. After 59 minutes, Allan Bramble mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leicester Lions and the Real Death Ducks players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Leicester Lions got a freekick which was hit by Allan Bramble. Real Death Ducks's Ronan Marler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Real Death Ducks from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute, Darius Astridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Allan Bramble came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ronan Marler could save by the left post. Allan Bramble was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 77th minute. Leicester Lions's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Nathan Leyburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ronan Marler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Allan Bramble fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronan Marler having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence Banks in the 87th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Simon Slater to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allan Bramble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 91st minute, Nathan Leyburn made a precise shot to the right of Ronan Marler. Real Death Ducks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 96th minute, Real Death Ducks's Tod Steed seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tod Steed the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Real Death Ducks protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tod Steed had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Real Death Ducks:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leicester Lions:s goal. The Leicester Lions supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Leicester Lions would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
