The referee ignored Olympiacos FC's protests and gave Viktoras Papoutsatos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, one of Olympiacos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Olympiacos FC. Manos Papaiakovou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kostas Tziolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Go Ahead Eagles's Manos Papaiakovou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Go Ahead Eagles from getting a goal against them. Olympiacos FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
