The referee ignored ERGOTELIS's protests and gave Thanasis Rizos a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes ERGOTELIS got a freekick which was hit by Thanasis Rizos. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of ERGOTELIS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lipochσrion FC:s goal. Panagiotis Kastanis was a little too slow when Diogenis Kanelidis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 18th minute Diogenis Kanelidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panagiotis Kastanis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, ERGOTELIS's Thanasis Rizos got a free kick in the 20th minute. Diogenis Kanelidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Panagiotis Kastanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanasis Rizos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Vaggelis Tsigounakis sped through Lipochσrion FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dimitris Pirtsos. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vaggelis Tsigounakis was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Vaggelis Tsigounakis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dimitris Pirtsos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Panagiotis Kastanis didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Lipochσrion FC's Dionysis Giannakoulis shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Diogenis Kanelidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lipochσrion FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogenis Kanelidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ERGOTELIS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
