Panionios MK's Vaggelis Raditsas got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Panionios MK booed when AC Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kostas Manouselis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vaggelis Raditsas scored 2-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kostas Tsioris, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AC Milan's Kostas Tsioris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save AC Milan from getting a goal against them. Kostas Tsioris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vaggelis Raditsas in the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to AC Milan getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Aris Kortzidis hit a great ball. In the 26th minute Vaggelis Raditsas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Tsioris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vaggelis Raditsas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vaggelis Raditsas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Kostas Tsioris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fanis Panousis took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manos Vougas. Manos Vougas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Manos Vougas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavlos Kazakis in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Panionios MK getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Vassilis Grigorakos hit a great ball. After 40 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Kosmidis. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Koulis Saveris to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pavlos Kazakis during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to AC Milan getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Pavlos Kazakis hit a great ball. If Veniamin Manolas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. AC Milan's Orestis Katsadourakis was substituted for Pavlos Kazakis. In the 61st minute, Veniamin Manolas made a precise shot to the right of Kostas Tsioris. AC Milan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Koulis Saveris got a free kick in the 64th minute. Veniamin Manolas hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. AC Milan's Pavlos Papazacharias shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Manos Vougas but with some difficulty. In the 80th match minute, Panionios MK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaggelis Raditsas to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aris Kortzidis in the 87th minute of play forced Panionios MK's goalkeeper Manos Vougas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, AC Milan's Koulis Saveris ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manos Vougas. Manos Vougas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. AC Milan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
