Stergios Panoulias charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stergios Panoulias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stergios Panoulias kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Panthiseiakos's Nikos Kontodimos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignatios Brilakis in the 5th minute of play. After some careless play in the Panthiseiakos defense, Ignatios Brilakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nikos Kontodimos. The Panthiseiakos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nikos Kontodimos should have stopped the shot. Nikos Kontodimos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignatios Brilakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. A collision led to Panthiseiakos getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Vassilis Vlachakis hit a great ball. When Giorgos Katzelis came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the ΟΦΗ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giorgos Katzelis couldn't finish the play. Nikos Kontodimos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignatios Brilakis in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Ignatios Brilakis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nikos Kontodimos. Panthiseiakos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ignatios Brilakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vassilis Vlachakis during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 played minutes Panthiseiakos got a freekick which was hit by Vassilis Vlachakis. Nikos Kontodimos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ignatios Brilakis's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Makis Argyrakis notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Panthiseiakos's Nikos Kontodimos. Nikos Kontodimos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignatios Brilakis in the 40th minute of play forced Panthiseiakos's goalkeeper Nikos Kontodimos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41stth minute of the game Ignatios Brilakis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panthiseiakos's Nikos Kontodimos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The wind increased when Ignatios Brilakis made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Giorgos Katzelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΟΦΗ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giorgos Katzelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nikos Kontodimos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignatios Brilakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 56 played minutes ΟΦΗ got a freekick which was hit by Iordanis Drambas. Nikos Kontodimos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ignatios Brilakis's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Ignatios Brilakis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nikos Kontodimos. Panthiseiakos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ignatios Brilakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 75th match minute, ΟΦΗ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sofoklis Stathatos to maneuver through the defense. Ignatios Brilakis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nikos Kontodimos came out and tried to block the shot, but Ignatios Brilakis slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stergios Panoulias in the 82nd minute of play forced ΟΦΗ's goalkeeper Fanis Sigalas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vassilis Vlachakis was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 85th minute, Vassilis Vlachakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ΟΦΗ's Makis Argyrakis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Panthiseiakos. When the match was over ΟΦΗ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Panthiseiakos throughout the match.
