Aadolf Martikainen scored 1-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Väänänen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aadolf Martikainen in the 16th minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Saul Väänänen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when Karhulan Veikot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvard Karjala didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Taavetti Valkealahti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Saul Väänänen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aadolf Martikainen, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Samuel Pihkala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taavetti Valkealahti in the 31st minute of the match. The corner led Manchester United FC's Jami Uhlbäck to fire away a dangerous shot which Samuel Pihkala despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Edvard Karjala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karhulan Veikot's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United FC the free kick. Edvard Karjala hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Taavetti Valkealahti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Pihkala having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Karhulan Veikot's zone, Reima Ruuttu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Pihkala came out of the goal and Reima Ruuttu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reima Ruuttu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Samuel Pihkala skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 46 minutes into the match, Reima Ruuttu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Pihkala. Karhulan Veikot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reima Ruuttu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Saul Väänänen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yrjänä Vihtilä in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ylermi Glad hit a great ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Turo Raninen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karhulan Veikot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Turo Raninen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aadolf Martikainen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Saul Väänänen made a huge save. Samuel Pihkala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reima Ruuttu in the 70th minute of the match. With a little luck, Manchester United FC's Saul Väänänen got control of the ball when Aadolf Martikainen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reima Ruuttu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Pihkala having to interfere. Karhulan Veikot's Tony Saarela quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Heikki Vehanen, made in the 83rd minute of the game. After 83 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Teppo Helminen. In the 84th minute, Reijo Ilola sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Manchester United FC's Saul Väänänen didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Karhulan Veikot's Nuutti Kesä got a free kick in the 86th minute. After 90 minutes Karhulan Veikot's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jami Uhlbäck who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Reima Ruuttu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reima Ruuttu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Pihkala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Manchester United FC had won after a very even match.
