When Andi Godescheid fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hertha 1969's protests and gave Andi Godescheid a yellow card for diving instead. Andi Godescheid hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Fc Schönhagen got a freekick which was hit by Elvis Birkner. Karsten Wolsch struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jupp Schultheiss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hertha 1969. Jupp Schultheiss made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Karsten Wolsch sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Fc Schönhagen getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Elvis Birkner hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Lutz Ertel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jupp Schultheiss was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Lutz Ertel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Andi Godescheid could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Jupp Schultheiss however easily saved by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ronnie Hitzing made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Fc Schönhagen's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Ertel came free, but Jupp Schultheiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronnie Hitzing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jupp Schultheiss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxim Nissen in the 82nd minute of play. Jupp Schultheiss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karsten Wolsch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maxim Nissen kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Maxim Nissen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hertha 1969 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
