Egbert Kerber came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Fc Schönhagen's Ronnie Hitzing. But to his dismay, Ronnie Hitzing quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ronnie Hitzing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Egbert Kerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Conrad Lilleike kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jupp Schultheiss. That made the score 1-1 in the 10 minute of play. In the 18th match minute, FC Traktor Götz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrad Lilleike to maneuver through the defense. Fc Schönhagen's Jupp Schultheiss proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Fc Schönhagen from getting a goal against them. In the 47th match minute, Fc Schönhagen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Holger Köppchen to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Egbert Kerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronnie Hitzing in the 53rd minute of play. In the 58th match minute, FC Traktor Götz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olivier Schwarzbach to maneuver through the defense. Conrad Lilleike sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, FC Traktor Götz's Olivier Schwarzbach sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jupp Schultheiss narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jupp Schultheiss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenz Grasedieck in the 70th minute of the match. Jupp Schultheiss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ewald Preil, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Jupp Schultheiss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenz Grasedieck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
