Ernst Breite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernst Schnur in the 4th minute of the match. After 7 minutes, Jaden Krieglmeier made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SC Night Cats's Ernst Breite tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jaden Krieglmeier struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Ernst Breite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sydney FC. Ernst Schnur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Sydney FC's Jaden Krieglmeier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernst Breite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaden Krieglmeier in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernst Breite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jochem Mach fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Night Cats's protests and gave Jochem Mach a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Night Cats's Jochem Mach got a free kick in the 26th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of SC Night Cats:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sydney FC:s goal. In the 33rd minute, Jochem Mach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Sydney FC fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Sydney FC's Pierre Möhn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 39th match minute, SC Night Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Hönig to maneuver through the defense. Jaden Krieglmeier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ernst Breite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44thth minute of the game Jaden Krieglmeier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Night Cats's Ernst Breite was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benny Usbeck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, SC Night Cats's goalkeeper Ernst Breite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kees Plappert. In the 62nd minute Ernst Schnur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernst Breite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Kees Plappert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernst Breite was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 79th minute, Pierre Möhn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the game, Kees Plappert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Ernst Breite was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Jochem Mach was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. Jochem Mach hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Kees Plappert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernst Breite having to interfere. SC Night Cats's Ernst Breite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kees Plappert in the 92nd minute of play. Ernst Schnur was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. SC Night Cats's Ernst Breite proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save SC Night Cats from getting a goal against them.
