The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when SC Night Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Müller didn't get a good kick on the ball. SV Bad Harzburg's Gerald Zapf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Hönig in the 28th minute of play. Herwig Fehr's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ernst Breite firmly grabbed it by the left post.

Gerald Zapf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marc Hönig in the 53rd minute. After 57 played minutes SC Night Cats got a freekick which was hit by Marc Hönig. If Thorsten Kristl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marc Hönig fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Night Cats's protests and gave Marc Hönig a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes SC Night Cats got a freekick which was hit by Marc Hönig. SC Night Cats's Robert Müller got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Robert Müller off the ground. Ernst Breite had in the 68thth minute some difficulties stopping Frido Sandkühler's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to SC Night Cats getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Benny Usbeck hit a great ball. Ernst Breite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herwig Fehr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Thorsten Kristl managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Bad Harzburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Thorsten Kristl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernst Breite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Night Cats's Albrecht Scheuerer pulled a muscle in his back after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Emanuel Schrappe charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Schrappe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Herwig Fehr's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernst Breite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Benny Usbeck hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Wiggo Letsche hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After 96 played minutes SC Night Cats got a freekick which was hit by Benny Usbeck.
