The supporters of Delay Sports booed when Vorwärts Lübeck was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thaddäus Hänsch didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute David Woltering shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Hilger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Hilger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Scheuch in the 12th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match Waldemar Scheuch sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronny Hilger skillfully saved the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Arik Bellmann notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Vorwärts Lübeck's Jochen Doll. Jochen Doll was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 43 played minutes Delay Sports got a freekick which was hit by Frederik Scherbaum. Ronny Hilger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folker Witzke in the 44th minute of play. Folker Witzke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Hilger having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Max Kammer made a kick off. Max Kammer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jochen Doll tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thaddäus Hänsch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Ronny Hilger made a huge save. After 61 played minutes Delay Sports got a freekick which was hit by Emir Leuschner. A collision led to Vorwärts Lübeck getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Peer Konnermann hit a great ball. Ferit Port hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Arik Bellmann hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Thaddäus Hänsch hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Max Kammer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jochen Doll was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Woltering got free with Ronny Hilger in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
