Gunther Daun took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emanuel Greshake. Emanuel Greshake dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Balus Treter defense, Gunther Daun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel Greshake. The Balus Treter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel Greshake should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Academica Pulheim's Gunther Daun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emanuel Greshake. That made the score 4-0 after 31 minutes of play. Emanuel Greshake made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gunther Daun in the 35th minute. The supporters of Academica Pulheim booed when Balus Treter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulus Schommer didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Thilo Haupt came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Academica Pulheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thilo Haupt couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Academica Pulheim's Thomas von Puttkammer was substituted for Karsten Oppmann. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jens Ehrlichmann during the 80th minute. Balus Treter's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. After a rather tough play, Balus Treter's Jens Ehrlichmann got a free kick in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Barnabas Rogge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emanuel Greshake. Balus Treter's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barnabas Rogge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. In the 97th minute Thomas von Puttkammer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Greshake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Academica Pulheim's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
