Westerland FC's players were relieved. 7 minutes into the game, Helge Thole was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westerland FC the free kick. Helge Thole hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Toralf Noldt came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Westerland FC's Wolfgang Paulus. But to his dismay, Wolfgang Paulus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Engelbert Heck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claes Kirn in the 22nd minute of the match. With his leg Engelbert Heck managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Volker Biermann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Felix Pellmann fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's protests and gave Felix Pellmann a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Felix Pellmann got a free kick in the 25th minute. Westerland FC's Engelbert Heck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Volker Biermann in the 27th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's goal looked a bit too open when Hilbert Bärenhart came free, but Toralf Noldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Westerland FC's goalkeeper Engelbert Heck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Berthold Weste charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Berthold Weste the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes Westerland FC got a freekick which was hit by Berthold Weste. Helge Thole hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 46 played minutes Westerland FC got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Kohlenbrenner. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tommy Trunschke managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommy Trunschke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Engelbert Heck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Westerland FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wolfgang Paulus was the one to do the kick off. Engelbert Heck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Volker Biermann in the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Petro Buchholz got a free kick in the 53rd minute. During the 57th minute of the match Berthold Weste completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Berthold Weste a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 57 minutes into the game, one of Westerland FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz booed when Westerland FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Meikel Jäger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Trunschke made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Westerland FC's Kristian Kindel. After 82 minutes of play, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Volker Biermann made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Engelbert Heck was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Petro Buchholz hit a great ball. Westerland FC's Kristian Kindel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tommy Trunschke in the 92 minute of the game. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
