After having played for 26 minutes, Radomil Gabler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radomil Gabler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Toralf Noldt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radomil Gabler in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Noel Erler hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Helge Thole sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johann Scheuerer skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Johann Scheuerer got control of the ball when Leonardo Güde tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Sven Börger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toralf Noldt made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Halil Winskowsky sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute Volker Biermann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johann Scheuerer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Volker Biermann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johann Scheuerer was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Despite being the better team, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
