Spectators: 167 (Terracing: 126, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Knut Kuschel took the kick off in the first half of the match. Rot-Weiss-Essen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hansjörg Selke in the 4th minute. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Winfried Teichmann was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Konrad Bogs in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Konrad Bogs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Halil Winskowsky in the 8th minute of play. If Gino Nölte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Johann Scheuerer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Günther Kaiser in the 13th minute of play. Tim Hermes might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johann Scheuerer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tim Hermes ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Halil Winskowsky in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Konrad Bogs prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Konrad Bogs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino Nölte in the 22nd minute of the match. Tim Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Halil Winskowsky struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Konrad Bogs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rot-Weiss-Essen. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Gino Nölte hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Noel Erler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Konrad Bogs was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 40 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Günther Kaiser came free, but Johann Scheuerer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Günther Kaiser struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Johann Scheuerer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Möhnsen FC. Noel Erler kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Rot-Weiss-Essen were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Halil Winskowsky made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Radomil Gabler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, Möhnsen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Radomil Gabler came free, but Konrad Bogs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Konrad Bogs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomil Gabler in the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Halil Winskowsky hit a great ball. Tim Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Johann Scheuerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Halil Winskowsky ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Konrad Bogs. Konrad Bogs yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Halil Winskowsky's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Konrad Bogs firmly grabbed it by the left post. 90 minutes into the match, Gino Nölte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Konrad Bogs. Möhnsen FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gino Nölte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Rot-Weiss-Essen were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Möhnsen FC's much stronger midfield.
