Steen Ihns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Toralf Noldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Volker Biermann hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Hilbert Bärenhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toralf Noldt having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Helge Thole was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westerland FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Westerland FC's Kurt Kohlenbrenner got a free kick in the 21st minute. Leonardo Güde's late challenge caught a Westerland FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Güde helped the player get up and apologised. Westerland FC's Eiko Irmscher was substituted for Kurt Kohlenbrenner. The supporters of Westerland FC booed when 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Güde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claes Kirn kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. During the 30th minute of the match Helge Thole completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Helge Thole a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Helge Thole hit a great ball. Berthold Weste's late challenge caught a 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claes Kirn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42ndth minute of the game Volker Biermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Westerland FC's Engelbert Heck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Volker Biermann was the one to do the kick off. Engelbert Heck was a little too slow when Volker Biermann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-1. The supporters of 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz booed when Westerland FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmond Dubrau didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 played minutes, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Tommy Trunschke shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Engelbert Heck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz reached it. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Toralf Noldt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steen Ihns in the 74th minute of play. Engelbert Heck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Volker Biermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st match minute, 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinhard Bandmann to maneuver through the defense.
