Champions Iasi's Sergiu Angheluță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Şoimu in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 minutes, Eric Şoimu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stoicii and the Champions Iasi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Stoicii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Şoimu to maneuver through the defense. Stoicii's Florin Boerescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Stoicii from getting a goal against them. Champions Iasi's Costică Perșa got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cazimir Zăraşcu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Florin Boerescu made a huge save. Stoicii's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Edgar Tarcu scored to the left of an out of position Florin Boerescu, making the score, 2-1. Cazimir Zăraşcu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Florin Boerescu made a huge save. Mihail Iftimescu's late challenge caught a Champions Iasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihail Iftimescu helped the player get up and apologised. After 48 played minutes Stoicii got a freekick which was hit by Mihail Iftimescu. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cazimir Zăraşcu was the one to do the kick off. Iulian Chesaru charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iulian Chesaru the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Stoicii's Iulian Chesaru got a free kick in the 55th minute. George Vâlcu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Florin Boerescu. Stoicii's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Stoicii getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Emanuel Barbălată hit a great ball. Florin Boerescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Zăraşcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florin Boerescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cazimir Zăraşcu's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute, Edgar Tarcu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Champions Iasi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 78 played minutes, Champions Iasi's George Vâlcu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Florin Boerescu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Champions Iasi reached it. Florin Boerescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Zăraşcu in the 80th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cazimir Zăraşcu during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Champions Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Zăraşcu. 85 minutes into the game, Edgar Tarcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Florin Boerescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Florin Boerescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costică Perșa, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th match minute, Champions Iasi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Perșa to maneuver through the defense. Iulian Chesaru hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Florin Boerescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costică Perșa, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Champions Iasi had played much better football throughout.
