The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andrei Zâncă struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Emil Frânculescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buffalo Timişoara. 9 minutes into the match, Mihai Poalelungi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emil Frânculescu, 1-0. The supporters of Buffalo Timişoara booed when Steaua Bucuresti -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristinel Manta didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mugur Hudiță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Steaua Bucuresti -MM-'s Edgar Basarab got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute, Petrică Trăistaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emil Frânculescu came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Buffalo Timişoara's Valeriu Paraschivescu. But to his dismay, Valeriu Paraschivescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Steaua Bucuresti -MM-'s Ştefan Măgureanu got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Gabriel Caloian shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emil Frânculescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emil Frânculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliodor Petran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihai Poalelungi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Emil Frânculescu made a huge save. In the 40th match minute, Steaua Bucuresti -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Mureșan to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Eliodor Petran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emil Frânculescu was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After 44th play minutes Eliodor Petran shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Emil Frânculescu and just under the crossbar into goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliodor Petran to make the kick off. Eliodor Petran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Frânculescu having to interfere. Emil Frânculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Petran in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriu Paraschivescu in the 61st minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti -MM-'s goalkeeper Emil Frânculescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emil Frânculescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Poalelungi in the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Andrei Zâncă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Emil Frânculescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. David Fințescu kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Andrei Zâncă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emil Frânculescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliodor Petran went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. When Eliodor Petran came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Buffalo Timişoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliodor Petran couldn't finish the play. Mihai Poalelungi took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emil Frânculescu. Emil Frânculescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Emil Frânculescu came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Buffalo Timişoara's Mihai Poalelungi. But to his dismay, Mihai Poalelungi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Steaua Bucuresti -MM-'s goalkeeper Emil Frânculescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mugur Hudiță made a great header on Buffalo Timişoara's corner, it was just that Steaua Bucuresti -MM-'s Emil Frânculescu managed to reach the ball for a save. 93 minutes into the game, Buffalo Timişoara's Eliodor Petran nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emil Frânculescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0.
