In the 3rd minute Dorel Codin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Frântu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Frântu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Codin in the 5th minute of the match. The supporters of Firefighter BT ★Dac★ booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurențiu Muntean didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s goal looked a bit too open when Dorel Codin came free, but George Frântu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Paulescu charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Paulescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Victor Paulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Stiinta-Univ.'s Ovidiu Borza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. George Frântu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s Grigore Apăvăloaie got a free kick in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorel Codin in the 24th minute of play forced Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s goalkeeper George Frântu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s George Frântu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ovidiu Borza in the 28th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Horaţiu Corduneanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stiinta-Univ. and the Firefighter BT ★Dac★ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Firefighter BT ★Dac★ booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horaţiu Corduneanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurențiu Muntean during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edgar Coposu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 35 played minutes Firefighter BT ★Dac★ got a freekick which was hit by Valer Buta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidiu Borza in the 41st minute of play forced Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s goalkeeper George Frântu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Frântu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Codin in the 43rd minute of the match. When Stiinta-Univ.'s Ovidiu Borza in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valer Buta made a kick off. When Traian Lupescu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Stiinta-Univ. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Traian Lupescu couldn't finish the play. The referee gave Stiinta-Univ. a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Irinel Itoafă, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s George Frântu. 0-3. With a little luck, Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s George Frântu got control of the ball when Ovidiu Borza tried to sneak it across the goal line. George Frântu made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ovidiu Borza sent off a good shot on target. Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s George Frântu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorel Codin in the 62nd minute of play. George Frântu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Codin in the 64th minute of the match. Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Dorel Codin scored to the left of an out of position George Frântu, making the score, 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidiu Borza got free with George Frântu in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Valer Buta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 played minutes, Stiinta-Univ.'s Matei Giosu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper George Frântu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stiinta-Univ. reached it. 85 minutes into the match, Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s goal looked a bit too open when Dorel Codin came free, but George Frântu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. George Frântu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ovidiu Borza in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Firefighter BT ★Dac★'s goalkeeper George Frântu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 94th minute Dorel Codin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Frântu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Frântu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorel Codin's shot from short distance in the 99th minute. The Stiinta-Univ. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Stiinta-Univ. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
