Johnny Visch yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 20 minutes into the game, FC Inter Sibiu's Nistor Răuțchi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johnny Visch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 24th minute, Marin Pietreanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phoenix Strikers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferdinand Vâlcu got free with Johnny Visch in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Phoenix Strikers defense, Ferdinand Vâlcu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnny Visch. The Phoenix Strikers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnny Visch should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Răuțchi in the 65th minute of play forced Phoenix Strikers's goalkeeper Johnny Visch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 minutes Phoenix Strikers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cazimir Mocanu who took care of the corner kick. 69 minutes in the game, Ion Africano fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Constantin Bota having to interfere.
