Francisc Ionete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Nicu Arghirescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to BVB 09 getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Marian Morovan hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Leonard Mihăilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Arghirescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Flavius Băieșu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filip Mirciulescu. BVB 09's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavius Băieșu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 31 minutes into the match, BVB 09's goalkeeper Filip Mirciulescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augustin Horea. Filip Mirciulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ştefan Alupulesei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Club Sportiv Medgidia booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Ionete didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augustin Horea to make the kick off. Club Sportiv Medgidia's Nicu Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Morovan in the 51st minute of play. Ştefan Alupulesei hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Francisc Ionete could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Nicu Arghirescu made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sandu Bâru in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicu Arghirescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th match minute, Club Sportiv Medgidia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Hulubei to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 68 in the game by Francisc Ionete from a close distance when the talented Nicu Arghirescu managed to make a qualified save. Club Sportiv Medgidia's players were relieved. In the 72nd match minute, Club Sportiv Medgidia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Hulubei to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Marian Morovan made a precise shot to the right of Nicu Arghirescu. Club Sportiv Medgidia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Nicu Arghirescu made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Marian Morovan sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute, Sandu Bâru reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicu Arghirescu. The goal made the score 2-3. Club Sportiv Medgidia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Marian Morovan scored to the left of an out of position Nicu Arghirescu, making the score, 2-4. Nicu Arghirescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Mihăilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. BVB 09's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
