Nichifor Borogeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Toader having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, one of FC Politehnica Timisoara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. FC Politehnica Timisoara:s Lucrețiu Manolache showed great skill when he stopped Aron Teodorescu:s penalty. Damian Toader made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nichifor Borogeanu in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nichifor Borogeanu in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damian Toader prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Dinu Aursulesei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Purcaresti CSS's Iustin Videanu got a free kick in the 20th minute. Nichifor Borogeanu in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Damian Toader, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Damian Toader took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pompiliu Pantiș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pompiliu Pantiș to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinu Aursulesei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marius Timaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucrețiu Manolache having to interfere. If Dinu Aursulesei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Purcaresti CSS's Eduard Glodeanu got a free kick in the 58th minute. Lucrețiu Manolache didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. After a rather tough play, Purcaresti CSS's Costică Pacurar got a free kick in the 64th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nichifor Borogeanu in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Toader saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. After 68 played minutes Purcaresti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Glodeanu. In the 73rd minute Nichifor Borogeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Toader saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Dorin Lungu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Politehnica Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purcaresti CSS the free kick. Dinu Aursulesei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucrețiu Manolache having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Gigi Drăgan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lucrețiu Manolache. The goal made the score 0-3. Dinu Aursulesei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Lucrețiu Manolache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Nichifor Borogeanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damian Toader was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Nicu Isăilă hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Dorin Lungu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Damian Toader. Purcaresti CSS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Purcaresti CSS played a much better game than FC Politehnica Timisoara and deserved their victory. The FC Politehnica Timisoara players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
