Gigel Rânceanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Niculae Alb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dacians Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Niculae Alb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Rânceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Niculae Alb made a precise shot to the right of Gigel Rânceanu. Fotbal Club Vaslui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Andrei Vârjean kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Augustin Oltean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Rânceanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gigel Rânceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niculae Alb's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Niculae Alb might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gigel Rânceanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niculae Alb ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Dacians Academy booed when Fotbal Club Vaslui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víglundur von der Schulenburg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dacians Academy's Nistor Manu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Halipa in the 32nd minute of play. Gigel Rânceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Alb in the 34th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Liviu Mușătescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fotbal Club Vaslui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Niculae Alb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Gigel Rânceanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Dacians Academy's Niculae Alb ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gigel Rânceanu. Gigel Rânceanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-7. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Augustin Oltean got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Aurel Halipa hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Liviu Mușătescu hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Augustin Oltean got in the 95th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Gigel Rânceanu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dacians Academy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
