Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Corneliu Cismaș started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute, Teodor Pârcălab ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Costin Răchitan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Teodor Cârlan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Gheorghe Vărzaru made a huge save. Costin Răchitan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Zâncă in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Navigatii Bacău's Corneliu Cismaș ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gheorghe Vărzaru. Gheorghe Vărzaru yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costel Dorineanu in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Costin Răchitan saved Navigatii Bacău from getting behind. After having played for 33 minutes, Sorin Zâncă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Buzău's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sorin Zâncă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Costin Răchitan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costel Dorineanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes, Costel Dorineanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Buzău and the Navigatii Bacău players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Costel Dorineanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gheorghe Vărzaru acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 38th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nicodim Chirnoagă. 43 minutes into the match, Sorin Zâncă had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Costin Răchitan. Navigatii Bacău's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sorin Zâncă was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half FC Buzău were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Navigatii Bacău's goal looked a bit too open when Costel Dorineanu came free, but Costin Răchitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ionel Galiceanu during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. David Cismarescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when Navigatii Bacău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toader Drăgoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Buzău's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
