Gavril Hurmuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodor Pârcălab, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Adevarul Pur booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Cismarescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vasile Chițu kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Adevarul Pur's Gavril Hurmuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Dabija in the 18th minute of play. Vasile Chițu hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Costel Dorineanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavril Hurmuz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Costel Dorineanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Gavril Hurmuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costel Dorineanu in the 30th minute of the match. After 32 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Dabija. After 33 minutes of play, Adevarul Pur's Victor Stoican made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gheorghe Vărzaru was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Gelu Chivu fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Buzău's protests and gave Gelu Chivu a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Gelu Chivu. Leonard Dabija took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gavril Hurmuz. Gavril Hurmuz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Stoican to make the kick off. Gavril Hurmuz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Teodor Pârcălab showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 52 minute of play. With 57 minutes on the clock, Leonard Dabija commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 58 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Dabija. Vasile Chițu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gheorghe Vărzaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasile Chițu in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Costel Dorineanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th match minute, FC Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Dorineanu to maneuver through the defense. When Iacob Galiceanu came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Adevarul Pur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iacob Galiceanu couldn't finish the play. Leonard Puișoru hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Sorin Zâncă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Stoican came free, but Gheorghe Vărzaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Cismarescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Adevarul Pur's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Andrieșanu came free, but Gavril Hurmuz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laurențiu Braia kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Adevarul Pur's Gavril Hurmuz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Adevarul Pur from getting a goal against them. The Adevarul Pur supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Buzău's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Buzău.
