In the 28th minute Traian Arsene shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Vieru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Vieru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liviu Achimescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dragoş Sălcudeanu in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ion Crivac prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisc Găină's late challenge caught a The Owls's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisc Găină helped the player get up and apologised. Francisc Găină kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, The Owls's Bogdan Vornicu got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Liviu Achimescu made a kick off. Ion Crivac didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Angheluș went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 60 minutes into the match, The Owls's goal looked a bit too open when Nistor Stanciu came free, but Ion Crivac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Costin Frânculescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liviu Huștea struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Damian Vieru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Owls. Liviu Achimescu came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Damian Vieru could save by the left post. After 82 played minutes The Owls got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Huștea. 85 minutes into the match, The Owls's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Guguianu came free, but Ion Crivac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornel Angheluță's late challenge caught a Emerald's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of The Owls booed when Emerald was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alin Aldulea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iustin Chira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Damian Vieru. Emerald's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, The Owls's goal looked a bit too open when Francisc Găină came free, but Ion Crivac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Owls eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
