With a little luck, Balavanis's Emanuel Goiciu got control of the ball when Francisc Huștea tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Aron Bebeșel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Balavanis's Emanuel Goiciu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Balavanis from getting a goal against them. Alexandru Butuc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mugurel Apostolescu in the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of VIP booed when Balavanis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilian Octavian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dorel Tărâţă made the kick off in the second half. Gavril Corocăescu kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Dan Gherguț charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dan Gherguț the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to VIP getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Dan Gherguț hit a great ball. Emanuel Goiciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Levițchi, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Vărzaru in the 83rd minute of play forced VIP's goalkeeper Alexandru Butuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Dacian Macamete ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexandru Butuc was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. VIP's Alexandru Butuc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save VIP from getting a goal against them. Alexandru Butuc came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Balavanis's Irinel Vărzaru. But to his dismay, Irinel Vărzaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3.
