If Rareș Vuşcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carpathians's Dorin Petrică played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihnea Martinaș in the 11th minute of play. Dorin Petrică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihnea Martinaș in the 18th minute of play. When Valeriu Iuzbașa fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BlueLionesse's protests and gave Valeriu Iuzbașa a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had been going on for 20 minutes, Carpathians's Vasile Socoriceanu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Șerban Moșanu. In the 22nd match minute, Carpathians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Bettencourt to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute, Petrică Pârcălab got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. BlueLionesse's Narcis Inculeț got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29thth minute of the game Mihnea Martinaș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carpathians's Dorin Petrică was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of BlueLionesse booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucian Giurgiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorin Petrică showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihnea Martinaș, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Marcu Hagi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Dorin Petrică showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcu Hagi, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Grigore Ciorbea's late challenge caught a Carpathians's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Grigore Ciorbea helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BlueLionesse's Grigore Ciorbea got a free kick in the 59th minute. Dorin Petrică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihnea Martinaș in the 61st minute of play. Vasile Socoriceanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Șerban Moșanu having to make a save. Iustinian Tutuianu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Moșanu having to interfere. Carpathians's Dorin Petrică proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Carpathians from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Carpathians's Dorin Petrică got control of the ball when Rareș Vuşcan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 75th minute, Rareș Vuşcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes BlueLionesse got a freekick which was hit by Mircea Stejaru. Șerban Moșanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Giurgiu in the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th match minute, Carpathians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Socoriceanu to maneuver through the defense. After 85 played minutes Carpathians got a freekick which was hit by Vasile Socoriceanu. In the 86th minute, Mihnea Martinaș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 93 played minutes Carpathians got a freekick which was hit by Felix Cernat. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
