After 6th play minutes Eusebiu Gliga shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Ernest Obreja and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 9th match minute, UFC Veseud was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Leucuța to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the UFC STEAUA defense, Dorel Leucuța kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernest Obreja. The UFC STEAUA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernest Obreja should have stopped the shot. After 17 minutes, Basarab Bala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC Veseud and the UFC STEAUA players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to UFC Veseud getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. After a defensive mix-up in UFC STEAUA's zone, Eusebiu Gliga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernest Obreja came out of the goal and Eusebiu Gliga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vasile Raicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ernest Obreja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Eusebiu Gliga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernest Obreja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebiu Gliga in the 34th minute of play. Eusebiu Gliga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ernest Obreja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when UFC Veseud was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorel Leucuța didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, UFC Veseud's Mihail Răica got a free kick in the 47th minute. Iosif Călin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bogdan Ionițoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half UFC Veseud were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Costică Mangra to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Eusebiu Gliga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matei Gâlcă hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Eusebiu Gliga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Ernest Obreja skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 64th minute Corneliu Hurezeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Ionițoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ioan Oțeteleșanu kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Eusebiu Gliga put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Ernest Obreja. If Liviu Cozma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bogdan Ionițoiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costică Mangra's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Ioan Oțeteleșanu's late challenge caught a UFC Veseud's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ioan Oțeteleșanu helped the player get up and apologised. Ioan Oțeteleșanu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 84th match minute, UFC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Bostan to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in UFC STEAUA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! The referee gave UFC Veseud a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Basarab Bala, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of UFC STEAUA's Ernest Obreja. 0-5. Aurelian Boian hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Bogdan Ionițoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ioan Oțeteleșanu in the 93rd minute of play. UFC Veseud's Eusebiu Gliga got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The UFC STEAUA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. UFC Veseud were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
