Christian Meys kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Edgard Armentier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rudy Panhuijsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 41 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Arnold Wyns. de belletrekkers's Henri-Patrick Van Den Driessche proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save de belletrekkers from getting a goal against them. Henri-Patrick Van Den Driessche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoffel Leers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christoffel Leers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes, Edgard Armentier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the de belletrekkers and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card.
