Diego Alaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 9 played minutes, FC Ouagadougou National's Jeffrey Rits shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomas Gobeleyns came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Ouagadougou National reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean De Meesemaeckere during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Selebi-Phikwe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean De Meesemaeckere to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Selebi-Phikwe's zone, Diego Alaerts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Gobeleyns came out of the goal and Diego Alaerts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Selebi-Phikwe getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Benedict van Eijnde hit a great ball. Thomas Gobeleyns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolf Smedts's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean De Meesemaeckere in the 17th minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Daan Owerckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daan Owerckx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herald Dedecker, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Thomas Gobeleyns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartjan Rijmenants, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, FC Ouagadougou National's Jeffrey Rits got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Daan Owerckx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alain Roeckeloes, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Thomas Gobeleyns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolf Smedts in the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, FC Ouagadougou National's Jeremie Sterkx dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Alain Roeckeloes charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alain Roeckeloes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alain Roeckeloes kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The long shot by Jeffrey Rits in the 42nd minute really tested Thomas Gobeleyns's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Thomas Gobeleyns didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the match, Adolf Smedts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomas Gobeleyns. Selebi-Phikwe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adolf Smedts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. A collision led to FC Ouagadougou National getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jeffrey Rits hit a great ball. After 60 played minutes FC Ouagadougou National got a freekick which was hit by Bartjan Rijmenants. Anthony Labrouche's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daan Owerckx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The corner ended in Herald Dedecker almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Ouagadougou National's Daan Owerckx did a great save. After 64 played minutes Selebi-Phikwe got a freekick which was hit by Hans Lauwers. In the 65th minute of the match Jeffrey Rits sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomas Gobeleyns skillfully saved the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 68 minutes into the game, when Hans Lauwers put in a rough tackle. 67 minutes into the game, one of Selebi-Phikwe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Thomas Gobeleyns had in the 70thth minute some difficulties stopping Jeffrey Rits's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. FC Ouagadougou National were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Selebi-Phikwe's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jeffrey Rits took the corner. 75 minutes into the game, Herald Dedecker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Selebi-Phikwe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ouagadougou National the free kick. A collision led to Selebi-Phikwe getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Herald Dedecker hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alain Roeckeloes got free with Daan Owerckx in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th match minute, FC Ouagadougou National was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeffrey Rits to maneuver through the defense. Alain Roeckeloes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 101st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Selebi-Phikwe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Ouagadougou National.
