In the 2nd match minute, KV Schoonwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Cheepers to maneuver through the defense. Wart Hollants hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Nicky Rauvoets acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Frank Costermans. Yelle Van Damme was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the SK Gullegem defense, Laurenz Kerselaers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jo van der Eycken. The SK Gullegem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jo van der Eycken should have stopped the shot. After 17 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Soren Kindts. After a rather tough play, KV Schoonwater's Matthias Persoons got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 26thth minute of the game Matthias Persoons who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SK Gullegem's Jo van der Eycken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Matthias Persoons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Christopher Frans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Costermans kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Thomas Eekhout kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremie Verhengen during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to KV Schoonwater getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Jeremie Verhengen hit a great ball. After 47 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Sylvain Pauwels. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christopher Frans to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, SK Gullegem's Jo van der Eycken got control of the ball when Laurenz Kerselaers tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 62 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Soren Kindts. Matthias Persoons could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Jo van der Eycken made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in KV Schoonwater's zone, Christopher Frans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicky Rauvoets came out of the goal and Christopher Frans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matthias Persoons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 76th match minute, SK Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Soren Kindts to maneuver through the defense. Jo van der Eycken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurenz Kerselaers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Laurenz Kerselaers came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the KV Schoonwater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laurenz Kerselaers couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Frank Costermans got a free kick in the 84th minute. KV Schoonwater's Charles Cheepers got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to SK Gullegem getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Soren Kindts hit a great ball. Jeremie Verhengen hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Soren Kindts kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th minute of the match Laurenz Kerselaers shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jo van der Eycken showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. KV Schoonwater played a much better game than SK Gullegem and deserved their victory. The SK Gullegem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
