The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Regis De Graef during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The nice shot from Jos Armentier in the 12thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Octavian Lache had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Jos Armentier charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jos Armentier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jos Armentier hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Jos Armentier succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 19th playminute. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Octavian Lache successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Anversa Club's Octavian Lache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Van Hoeyveld in the 26th minute of play. When Fred Van Hoeyveld came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the VC zoetwater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Van Hoeyveld couldn't finish the play. Fred Van Hoeyveld might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavian Lache. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fred Van Hoeyveld ran back to his position shaking his head. Stan Hagemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan De Maijer in the 38th minute of the match. The supporters of Anversa Club booed when VC zoetwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarne Van Kelf didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 42 minutes, Cedric Van Meerbeec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VC zoetwater and the Anversa Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cedric Van Meerbeec kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jos Armentier to strike the kick off in the second half. Jos Armentier struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Octavian Lache didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VC zoetwater. Jos Armentier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Octavian Lache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Anversa Club's zone, Marc Van Linthaut stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Lache came out of the goal and Marc Van Linthaut tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Octavian Lache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedric Van Meerbeec in the 72nd minute of play. Joppe Vanden Bussche's late challenge caught a VC zoetwater's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joppe Vanden Bussche helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Anversa Club getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Joppe Vanden Bussche hit a great ball. Octavian Lache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos Armentier in the 81st minute of play. VC zoetwater's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Dan De Maijer scored to the left of an out of position Stan Hagemans, making the score, 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
