The referee showed Jos Armentier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, VC zoetwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jos Armentier to maneuver through the defense. Stan Hagemans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stein Van Leemputte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Jos Armentier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rene Callewaert during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Twierdza Osowiec's Rene Callewaert got a free kick in the 20th minute. Stan Hagemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stein Van Leemputte in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stein Van Leemputte in the 24th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Stan Hagemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Stein Van Leemputte came free, but Stan Hagemans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Stein Van Leemputte notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of VC zoetwater's Stan Hagemans. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lou Winnepenninck was the one to do the kick off. Stan Hagemans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stein Van Leemputte in the 54th minute. Stan Hagemans made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Stein Van Leemputte sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Callewaert in the 58th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Stan Hagemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stan Hagemans was a little too slow when Lou Winnepenninck got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 0-3. Stan Hagemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rene Callewaert in the 65th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Lou Winnepenninck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stan Hagemans was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Cedric Van Meerbeec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maarten Soetemans having to interfere. In the 71st minute Fred Van Hoeyveld suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Joel Gevaert's late challenge caught a VC zoetwater's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Gevaert helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Twierdza Osowiec! 81 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Stan Hagemans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stein Van Leemputte. Stan Hagemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lou Winnepenninck in the 82nd minute of the match. Stan Hagemans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lou Winnepenninck in the 85th minute of play. After 87 played minutes Twierdza Osowiec got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gevaert. Stein Van Leemputte took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stan Hagemans. Stan Hagemans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. With a little luck, VC zoetwater's Stan Hagemans got control of the ball when Rene Callewaert tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Twierdza Osowiec eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
