Stan Hagemans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre Van Leemputte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pierre Van Leemputte came free with the goalkeeper in the 15th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stan Hagemans could save by the left post. Jos Armentier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th match minute, VC zoetwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Van Hoeyveld to maneuver through the defense. VC zoetwater's Stan Hagemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Van Kestbeek in the 20th minute of play. Stan Hagemans came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Portus Ganda's Ernst Jansens. But to his dismay, Ernst Jansens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jos Armentier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jorden Colebrandts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, VC zoetwater's Edwin Jennes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edwin Jennes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of VC zoetwater protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edwin Jennes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 34 minutes into the game, one of VC zoetwater:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Danny Spoelberchs placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Van Kestbeek in the 40th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Stan Hagemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pierre Van Leemputte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stan Hagemans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Van Leemputte in the 52nd minute of the match. If Cedric Van Meerbeec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Van Leemputte came free, but Stan Hagemans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Van Kestbeek in the 59th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Stan Hagemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the VC zoetwater defense, Pierre Van Leemputte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stan Hagemans. The VC zoetwater fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stan Hagemans should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the game, Pierre Van Leemputte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Stan Hagemans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marc Van Kestbeek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Hagemans having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Marc Van Kestbeek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stan Hagemans. VC zoetwater's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marc Van Kestbeek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Stan Hagemans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Van Leemputte in the 75th minute of play. After some careless play in the VC zoetwater defense, Ernst Jansens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stan Hagemans. The VC zoetwater fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stan Hagemans should have stopped the shot. 87 minutes into the game, Marc Van Kestbeek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Stan Hagemans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Van Kestbeek in the 94th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Stan Hagemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portus Ganda's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
