Spectators: 177 (Terracing: 133, Seating: 41, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dieter Haelemans kicked off to start the match. Sam Stuijckens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo De Backer in the 7th minute of play. Matthy Anteunis kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. When Ivo De Backer came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Genk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo De Backer couldn't finish the play. Jordi Peten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Lenoir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Genk's Tommi Renso got a free kick in the 16th minute. After recieving a nice pass, De krokante kroketjes's Matthy Anteunis tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Jordi Peten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brian Lenoir in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, De krokante kroketjes's Brian Lenoir got a free kick in the 24th minute. Steff Winnepenninck took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sam Stuijckens. Sam Stuijckens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jordi Peten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben Van Cleijnenbreughel in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute, Ben Van Cleijnenbreughel made a precise shot to the right of Jordi Peten. Genk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. De krokante kroketjes's Matthy Anteunis got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of De krokante kroketjes booed when Genk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 played minutes De krokante kroketjes got a freekick which was hit by Joop Nelleboedske. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivo De Backer made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Brian Lenoir notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Genk's Jordi Peten. Jordi Peten was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jordi Peten didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martijn Verbeeck went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute Martijn Verbeeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordi Peten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Sam Stuijckens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Genk getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf hit a great ball. Jordi Peten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Van Cleijnenbreughel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivo De Backer kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Martijn Verbeeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordi Peten having to interfere. After 81 minutes, Thijs de Neys mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Genk and the De krokante kroketjes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Thijs de Neys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dieter Haelemans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordi Peten having to interfere. If Ivo De Backer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, De krokante kroketjes's Roben Van Casteren got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Genk's Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 93rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sam Stuijckens but with some difficulty. For all the effort they put into the match, the Genk players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for De krokante kroketjes.
