The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Douglas Cortens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicolaas De Cat made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Jean Theunis sent off a good shot on target. Loui De Wulf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Geordy De Leger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charles-Louis De Messemaeckre charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles-Louis De Messemaeckre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Vc Brye:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SK Dreigoten:s goal. The referee gave SK Dreigoten a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Henri Van Houtvinc, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vc Brye's Geordy De Leger. 0-1. Jean Theunis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Nicolaas De Cat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charalambos Zardari struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Nicolaas De Cat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vc Brye. Bernd Van der Sande hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Charalambos Zardari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Nicolaas De Cat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loui De Wulf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jo Vissenakens's late challenge caught a Vc Brye's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jo Vissenakens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, one of SK Dreigoten:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SK Dreigoten. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for Vc Brye. Octaaf Van Adorp stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nicolaas De Cat. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Loui De Wulf made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Octaaf Van Adorp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vc Brye's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SK Dreigoten the free kick. After 54 played minutes Vc Brye got a freekick which was hit by Octaaf Van Adorp. Geordy De Leger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Cortens in the 56th minute of the match. Octaaf Van Adorp kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. SK Dreigoten's Nicolaas De Cat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charalambos Zardari in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to SK Dreigoten getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jeffery De Vleeschauwere hit a great ball. In the 68th minute Charalambos Zardari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas De Cat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vc Brye's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Loui De Wulf scored to the left of an out of position Geordy De Leger, making the score, 2-2. Xander Cools's late challenge caught a Vc Brye's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xander Cools helped the player get up and apologised. Xander Cools hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Charalambos Zardari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, SK Dreigoten's Ludwig Swin got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 87th minute, Tony Van de Plas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jean Theunis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolaas De Cat having to make a save. In the 91st minute of the match Octaaf Van Adorp sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicolaas De Cat skillfully saved the ball. 93 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's goal looked a bit too open when Cederique Wigers came free, but Nicolaas De Cat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Loui De Wulf fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Dreigoten's protests and gave Loui De Wulf a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th minute Charalambos Zardari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas De Cat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cederique Wigers struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Nicolaas De Cat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vc Brye. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
