In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kickers United's goalkeeper Emmanuel Meersman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ruben Van den Haute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Meersman having to interfere. Robben Moerman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanny Helssens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Richy Henderickx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Kickers United's goal looked a bit too open when Richmond Roeckeloos came free, but Emmanuel Meersman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruben Van den Haute was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. De Beverpatrouille's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Luka De Bruyn charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luka De Bruyn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luka De Bruyn kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jannic Van Cruchten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Robben Moerman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvain De Raeijmaeker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robben Moerman having to interfere. Luka De Bruyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Meersman having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Stanny Helssens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kickers United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave De Beverpatrouille the free kick. Stanny Helssens kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After 48 played minutes De Beverpatrouille got a freekick which was hit by Richy Henderickx. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Frans Moerman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Ruben Van den Haute had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emmanuel Meersman. Kickers United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruben Van den Haute was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A collision led to Kickers United getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Frans Moerman hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kickers United's zone, Ruben Van den Haute stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emmanuel Meersman came out of the goal and Ruben Van den Haute tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, De Beverpatrouille's Ruben Van den Haute got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Louis-Philippe Nijs kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Kickers United's Stanny Helssens got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Kickers United defense, Ruben Van den Haute kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emmanuel Meersman. The Kickers United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emmanuel Meersman should have stopped the shot. Stanny Helssens made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 94thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Robben Moerman would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. De Beverpatrouille's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
