The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ive Verhoeven had in the 6thth minute some difficulties stopping Robrecht Van Geestel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Haithabu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robrecht Van Geestel came free, but Ive Verhoeven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robrecht Van Geestel in the 11th minute of play forced Haithabu FC's goalkeeper Ive Verhoeven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ive Verhoeven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tristan Symons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arne Kest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrez Van Aertvinck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Haithabu FC booed when Café DE PLOEG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Sas didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emiel Stercks in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Kest saved Café DE PLOEG from getting behind. The supporters of Café DE PLOEG booed when Haithabu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas-Jan De Cat didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Andrez Van Aertvinck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haithabu FC's Ive Verhoeven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robrecht Van Geestel in the 29th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Café DE PLOEG got a freekick which was hit by Bastian Vranken. Ive Verhoeven stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robrecht Van Geestel's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Ive Verhoeven came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Café DE PLOEG's Robrecht Van Geestel. But to his dismay, Robrecht Van Geestel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Café DE PLOEG's Robrecht Van Geestel in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Haithabu FC's goalie prevented a goal. 41 minutes into the match, Haithabu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bastian Vranken came free, but Ive Verhoeven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rdth minute of the game Robrecht Van Geestel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haithabu FC's Ive Verhoeven was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Café DE PLOEG were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oswald Haeselaers was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Arne Kest, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oswald Haeselaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Arne Kest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robrecht Van Geestel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Ive Verhoeven skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 60 minutes, Oswald Haeselaers made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Café DE PLOEG's Arne Kest tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thomas-Jan De Cat, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Robrecht Van Geestel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ive Verhoeven. That made the score 1-3 in the 66 minute of play. Jules De Groote kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes, Café DE PLOEG's Jullian Gijselinghs shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ive Verhoeven came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Café DE PLOEG reached it. Jullian Gijselinghs's late challenge caught a Haithabu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jullian Gijselinghs helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Café DE PLOEG's Jullian Gijselinghs got a free kick in the 73rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oswald Haeselaers in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Kest saved Café DE PLOEG from getting behind. A collision led to Café DE PLOEG getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Jarne Desmet hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Café DE PLOEG's goal looked a bit too open when Oswald Haeselaers came free, but Arne Kest reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Raymond Sutens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarne Desmet during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Café DE PLOEG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarne Desmet to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 86 minutes, Oswald Haeselaers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haithabu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswald Haeselaers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Haithabu FC's goalkeeper Ive Verhoeven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Café DE PLOEG players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
