Nic Hollandts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Rein Nilis came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Lions United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rein Nilis couldn't finish the play. Limburg United's Robbie Van Beylen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rein Nilis in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Limburg United's Lorenz Van Eede seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Lorenz Van Eede the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Limburg United protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lorenz Van Eede had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Limburg United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! Nils Verhaghen placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

52 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Lions United's Rein Nilis fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Robbie Van Beylen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Calstermans in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Matias Calstermans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Calstermans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilliam Roelandts might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nic Hollandts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilliam Roelandts ran back to his position shaking his head. Limburg United's Mark Heijligem got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute of the match, Gilliam Roelandts got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nic Hollandts was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Diederik Huijberechts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the game, Limburg United's Gilliam Roelandts nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nic Hollandts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The Limburg United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
