In the 12th minute Gilliam Roelandts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Kest saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Café DE PLOEG's zone, Diederik Huijberechts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Kest came out of the goal and Diederik Huijberechts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrick Van de kauter's late challenge caught a Limburg United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrick Van de kauter helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, Café DE PLOEG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Van de kauter to maneuver through the defense. Arne Kest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diederik Huijberechts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robbie Van Beylen was a little too slow when Robrecht Van Geestel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robrecht Van Geestel in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robbie Van Beylen saved Limburg United from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Limburg United's Diederik Huijberechts got a free kick in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the game, Robrecht Van Geestel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Robbie Van Beylen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arne Kest made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frans Machiels in the 39th minute of play. Gilliam Roelandts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arne Kest read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frans Machiels during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
